Ruth Akers is a CTE Resource Teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS). She received her Bachelor of Science in agriculture from the University of Maryland, College Park and a master's in Technology Education from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. Prior to teaching, Ms. Akers worked in electronics manufacturing and was a production manager for a biotech company manufacturing High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) materials for research. Ms. Akers has also been a session presenter at numerous ITEEA conferences. Most recently, Ms. Akers contributed an article for the Technology and Engineering Teacher (February 2017, A Journey To Increase Student Engagement).
